In 2025, we teamed up with the Town of Hamburg and Sinatra Development LLC to save four stained glass windows from the old Franciscan Convent Chapel on South Park Avenue in Hamburg, N.Y. The building was set to be demolished due to structural and asbestos issues, but the windows—made by the well-known Mayer and Co. of Munich and New York—were too special to lose. After some back and forth, we got the green light. Colin and Alex spent five long days carefully removing over 18 window sections from the outside, since working inside wasn’t safe. We brought them back to our studio for cataloguing. Sinatra Development generously donated the windows to the Hamburg Historical Society, and we are restoring them. One has already been installed in a beautiful, well-lit display at the museum, depicting St. Andrew giving bread to the poor. The two small, restored pieces are also being gifted to the Franciscan Sisters and the Catholic Diocese.
